About

About Charoen Watthana

Purpose

Charoen Watthana was created to address gaps in education and community support systems in Southern Thailand.

Our approach is to complement and strengthen existing institutions, not replace them.

Founder

Founded by Wesley Steehouwer, following a life-changing accident in Thailand, the initiative is grounded in firsthand experience with the importance of access, coordination, and support.

Vision

To establish a foundation that enables:

  • Access to modern education and future skills
  • Stronger community support systems
  • Improved coordination between existing services
  • Sustainable regional impact

Approach

Phase 1 – Education & Development

Access to learning environments focused on technology, AI awareness, and critical thinking.

Phase 2 – Community Integration

Partnerships with local institutions, schools, and healthcare providers.

Phase 3 – System Support

Support coordination across healthcare and emergency systems.

Regional Scope

Our work is based within the Mu Ko Samui region, a geographically connected system of islands and mainland communities, including Khanom.

Charoen Watthana is currently in the pre-registration phase of establishing a legally recognized foundation in Thailand.

We are committed to full compliance with Thai law.

Institutional Collaboration

Charoen Watthana is preparing for formal foundation registration in Thailand. We welcome engagement with organizations and partners aligned with education, technology, and community development in the Mu Ko Samui region.
